Flying Circus helps promote Ultimate Frisbee in Jordan.

We would like to thank the board and all of the Flying Circus players for their donation of 20 frisbees to a ‘Sport for Safe Schools’ project Jordan, Zarqa.

The Danish NGO called GES (Global Education through Sport) has in participation with MS Action Aid - Denmark (Mellemfolkelig Samvirke) launched a project in Jordan where the purpose is to link sports education with increased awareness of different life skills. Ultimate Frisbee has for obvious reasons been chosen to set focus on conflict resolution. The focus is also to empower girls through sport by improving their communication skills and raising their level of self-esteem and improve the conflict management and non-violent communication skills of boys.

For this first workshop Hanna Tordardottir has gone to Jordan to be in charge of the Ultimate Frisbee part, where basketball is the other sport represented. She will introduce the game to approximately 30 PE teachers from public schools and other stakeholders in the project.

For further information about the project please contact Majbrit Mouridsen or Janeke Hansen, Flying Circus or Hanna Tordardottir.
